The check engine light came on

The check engine light came on. When the car was turned on and off 3 times the error light blinked 5 times. What does the 5 blinks mean?

The only time I have seen a obd2 check engine light flash is while running and thats caused by a bad missfire. Your going to have to go to a auto parts store and have it scanned for codes. Let me know what the exact codes are not code descriptions.
