I think I have water in my fuel. I have tried a drying agent which worked for about 1/2 a tank but I am now back to the rough idle and no acceleration. And in fact the 05 extera will not start. Am I on the right track by assuming water in the fuel or is there something else I should be looking for? Outside of draining the fuel is there something I can do to get it started and back on the road?

Can you get a sample of the suspected gas? I would recommend draining the tank, and refilling with fresh fuel to get back to running normally, if indeed the possible contamination of the fuel in the tank is the issue.

If engine check light is on, run scan to get troble code. Be sure to change fuel filter.
