Nissan Altima Engine Problem
Do you have to drop the brake caliber and tie rods when replacing an engine in a 2005 nissan altima se-r that has front wheel drive? What has to be remove on car to take engine out and to put a new engine in? Very important...thanks for your help.

normally the correct way to do it is to drop the whole front suspension to remove the engine some people myay try to get it out through teh top but aren't very successful without damaging the car.

OK....does that mean the brakes had to be touched?

the hoses wouldhave to be disconnected i order to drop the front suspension.the hoses for the brakes. if you have a brake problem then take it back if that is whatwas done.
