pull the oil filter if there is no oil in it or very little then its' agood possiblility that the oil change place didn't put any in it. But have the mechanic do it so he can attest to it if in court. this should be a good lesson to you to check your oil every oncein a while.
i totally understand the mistake..:( i just want to know, what could be done now. The piston rod is bent and lifters are broken, can those parts alone be changed or the whole engine has to be replaced? Please advice.
The crankshaft will proberbly be damages as the lack of oil will destroy bearings and damage the crank, i would consider another engine.
youi can put what is called a crank kit and youi'll need any rods and anythign else that is i broken/bent destroyed so another engien is your best option at this point like MH is saying
