My 05 Kia Optima will die if I remove the gas cap and then it does not want to start back up again once I fill the gas tank up. It will eventually start as long as I push down on the gas pedal. However, it will die once I put it into gear. Eventually it will start and remain running until the next time I get gas. What could this issue possibly be?

It could be a fuel pump going bad. What to do is check fuel pump pressure the next time this happens to see if it is within spec.

How would I check the fuel pump pressure? Someone also said it could be the charcoal canister being clogged? Thoughts?
