EGR valve/intercooler hose split problem?

At 40mph heard a splat type sound and immediately lost instant acceleration reponse. Car then felt like it was running on kangeroo juice, no black smoke or fault lights noticed. But would still speed up slowly. Speed did not seem to match revs.

Have it scanned for soft codes, which won't set the CEL.
If the charge air cooler hose has split, you need to replace it. It is secured with 2 clamps.

Problem turned out to be a broken jubilee clip on the o/s lower intercooler hose. Thanks for advise.
