i am overheating pum thermostat and fan relay all ok ,what am i missing?

i have a 2005 gmc sierra with a 4.8 vortex engine.it recently began to overheat.i checked the water pump but it gives no sign of failure ,i replaced the thermostat and the fan relay but it still is running hot.what do i try next?
