I have tried an air conditioner recharge kit but it didnt work. What should I do?

Is the compressor turning on?

Yes the compressor is turning on, but it goes on and off rapidly I think the problem is an plugged orfice tube. I will disassamble the system and inspect.

Feel the temp of the liquid line before the tube. If it is warm to the touch, the tube is OK. If it is ambient temp, then you have no travel and the tube is blocked. It would also be pulling the low side down quickly.
