My son took his dodge truck through too deep of a large puddle and the engine stalled. I need some tips of what he should and shouldn't do. Does it just need to dry out or are there other issues he should look into? He's out of state and I want him to be able to ask the right questions of any mechanic and the insurance company. Need some help here guys. this is way beyond my knowledge.

This could be real serious, depending how fast he was going when this happened. If it sucked any large quantities of water into the intake, at higher RPM it will bend a connecting rod instantly. If the engine is still cranking over, that's a good sign. If it seems locked up, then remove all the spark plugs and crank the engine over to clear all the water out of the cylinders and then dry out the rest of it. You still could have drowned some computers too.
