Recently my daughter's 2005 neon wouldn't start. A mechanic said it the ignition and computer had to be re-set. It would not start again yesterday. It will start running and after a few seconds, it will stop. Is this a common problem? What causes this?

It's in anti-theft mode. The computers may need to be reprogrammed. Sometimes if the battery goes dead the Engine and Body Computers will lose their memory and will need a code programmed in by the dealer.
