I am having issues with my 2005 Chevy Malibu. It can be slightly difficult to start. After ignition, the vehicle “sputters” a bit during idle and subtle vibrations can be felt. There is hardly any power when pressing on the gas pedal and there seems to be a great deal of lag. I originally thought the issue may be a clogged air filter; however I replaced it with a new one without any change in the vehicle. I have not taken it out of the parking lot or over 15 mph since this started. The check engine light is on. The symptoms came abruptly. Can you tell me an ideas of what could be wrong? Is it safe to drive to a shop?
