'05 Cadillac SRX V-6 3.6. Towing Package Engine Driven Fan. Want to Swap over to the Dual Hi-Low Electric Fans. Have the Electric Fan Unit. How does it wire up so that both the fans work properly. This is a retro Fit as Some SRX's came with the H/D Tow Package (The engine driven Fan). The Fan Assembly is not serviceable. The Replacement unit is $600.00USD. I procured the OEM Electrical Fan complete assembly for $135.00USD. We do not "Tow" anything. The Electric Fans were an option on the SRX, so I would believe that the Electrical Wiring would still be "there" & at least available even though it wasn't used just as the Fuse-block has the relays & the wiring already "there" for the Hi/Low Relays. Thank you for your assistance.

Why do you want to do this?

The wiring is most like not there as there are 4 different wiring harness for these models.

Hi,

Cheers for the swift reply.

Re: "why do you want to do this?"

Hmmmmmm,

lets see:- I'm 53. Unemployed from my Job of many, many years in 2009. No one even BOTHERS to set me an interview time even for entry level jobs.

Since we don't yet have to "Tow" our house around behind us, I opted for the $135.00USD OEM Electrical cooling Fan versus the $600.00USD Engine Driven Fan.

Why still, Well, in keeping with the savings of $495.00USD, I logically deduced that there was no need for the H/D Tow Package Engine Cooling system tat this time.

You See, we prudently bought the Vehicle Used. Apparently the Factory never thread-locked the bolts that bolt the fan assembly to the fan-clutch.

They rattled free & loose. I thought I had caught it in time, however the rattling caused the fan assembly to crack.

To save from having shrapnel explode into the Radiator & possibly even take out the Aluminum Hood, I removed the entire assembly.

THAT is why.

Hopefully respectfully enough detailed to warrant some assistance.

Thank you!
