my sienna has no engine light on,transmission's fluid is ok but has this noise, smells like burnt and sometimes the gears slips.mechanics said it has a transmission problem but they are not sure what part so they want to remove, dismantle it first before they come into a proper diagnosis.they said we might have to rebuild the transmission and estimated $2000-$3000.i can't afford that right now,we don't use the vehicle,it is parked in the garage and i just turn on and warm up the engine every so often.is it ok to wait until we have enough cash to have the transmission fixed? for how long and will it affect the engine if i wait to have it fixed, thank u
