I have an automatic transmission. Shifting from first to second seems sluggish or lags

When my car goes to shift from 1st to 2nd gear as best as I can explain it my rpms go up, I can tell the car goes to try and shift, revs a little higher and then there is a slight jump or jerk kinda feel when it shifts. It only happens if I have a heavy take off and only first to second. Its not extremely noticable but I can feel when it happens

Make sure fluid is full then take to a trans guy and have him properly diagnose it. It may be a valve hanging yup or a seal going bad. You may not be able to check trans fluid if no dipstick and trans guy will have to do that anyhow.

Would either of those be pricy repairs? And my trans fluid when hot is right at the hot line that means its right correct?

Ya if it's at the hot mark when hot it's ok. If it's brown though it's not. The pricey repair would be a seal bad as it would need a rebuild, but untilit's diagnosed you really don't know. If a valve is hung up it may not be or if the valve isn't working.
