I own a 2004 Subaru Outback wagon with 79k miles. It runs very well and I plan to keep it a long time. Last year my mechanic said I should get the front and rear struts replaced within a year (total cost approx. $1100). Need I get this done?

The steering handles very well and I hear no noises that say "alert" while making turns.

Thank you,
Ted

Struts are reccomeneded at 50k for replacement whether they are leaking or not. You have a lot of time and mileage on them. I reccomend them over 50 k as well.

Get a second opinion if you dont believe the guy.
