I don't actually have the car but I'm debating on whether it's a good step or not. Seems fine, only two tiny fingerprint sized dents, great condition, clean interior, looks well taken care of, runs well (for now). The guy did tell me that id have to but the air conditioner belt on (which he has supplied) and that I'd have to replace the clutch bearings. He is asking 5,500 but it going to put another 100 or 200 on because he's just getting it inspected. Is the price too high and the inspection papers should tell me what's wrong with the car right? Also, what problems should I look out for that's most common in subarus or just a little older cars?

According to the Kelley Blue Book, this car should be less than $4k.

It does go by condition which the car does seem to be really good. I looked at an 05 Subaru but it was beat to all hell. The owner didn't take very good care of it. The 04 owner has done a better job but I do think it's a little high; however, if it's going to last I don't mind the extra 500 or 1000 compared to something unreliable. Should I be concerned about the bushings or belt?

Yes, I'm aware. I used the best condition possible: Excellent. I didn't take into account any options or add-ons though, which will add to the value.

Worry about bushings if you can see them cracking or hear squeaking. Ask if the timing belt was done recently. Check the accessory drive belt.
