After driving about 1/2 mile at around 45, I let off the gas to coast as I was approaching a red light but it did not slow down. I braked and the engine sounded like it was still revving at much higher than idle, the RPM's were still at around 3k. When I let off the brake to keep going, my car accelerated (not too quickly) back up to 45 without ever hitting the gas in about 10 seconds. It's been behaving like this since and only resets when the engine is shut off. It is a 2004 Olds Alero 2 door, automatic. Any ideas what could cause this?

Scan for codes, check fuel pressure, and clean throttle plate on both sides with choke cleaner.

I finally got in touch with the service department at my dealership, they said it's probably a throttle cable sticking or possibly the cruise control malfunctioning. They're going to look at it right away. Thanks for your help!
