Ecotec 2.2 liter was surging and check engine light came on ran code p0300 misfire, now car wont start and motor doesn't crank over just spinning free sound is heard when trying to start. Is The timing chain broken. Please help.

Missfire code for all cylinders. You need to check fuel pressure. The pump may have failed. Check for spark as well. One of them will be missing but my bet is the fuel pump.
