High mileage is not a reason to blow the headgasket-its a malfunctioning cooling system that will blow it-such as thermostat, clogged radiator, defective water pump, and cooling fan

Reserve tank depleting indicates thaere is minor leak in the cooling system and a pressure test should assist in locating the source. A blown gasket would have the rreserve tank level increasing so at the moment it is not an engine problem. Check those components as Rasmataz has mentioned.
