I started smelling a burning smell coming through the vents when he was on for about 3 days but checked the fluids but didn't notice anything unusual. I then came to a stop at a stop sign while driving in D and when I gave the car gas the motor didn't rev and and moved as if it was just idling. When I placed the car back in neutral and gave it gas the motor reved fine. Any ideas?

I pulled into a parking lot because I was too far from home to go 5 mph home so I had it towed but while waiting on my ride the vehicle died and acted like battery was dead
