2004 Mercedes Benz SL600 Temperature

When I drive the car, the temperature gauge goes up close to 100C. I talked to two service managers. One told me this is normal for this car. The other said I should have the car towed into a dealership for repairs. I am confused.

Go get the cooling system checked it sounds as if it is running a bit hot, should be in the range of 88deg c pending on the thermostat fitted.
