My front windshield wiper is not getting water up to spray on the windshield.

The water is sprayingout under the hood, right near the wipers, but underneath.

So, I think the motor and hose is fine.

What else might be clogged and/or what else can I check to do this myself?

Thank you for your help.

Sounds more like the hose is split - have you tried having someone spray while watching to see where the fluid is coming from? Try this to verify the hose is not split or hose connector broken

Thank you for you prompt reply.

I looked again and this time found it; you are right, the hose is disconnected.

I can't see to what I need to connect it.

It looks almost like it was cut off from another section of hose, which isn't visible anywhere.

Since I don't have a repair manual I'm assuming it's probably cheaper just to take it into someone who knows what he/she is doing rather than mess with it anymore myself.

Your site is a very good service and I'll be sure to refer you to others.

Hey – let’s give it a try. You figured this out so let’s try a little more before you take it somewhere.
Okay – based off of the attached pic the water sprays from your wipers – is this correct?
Okay – look at the spray nozzles on the wiper blades – there should be a rubber hose connected to both and are attached to the wiper blades. Follow them down and see that they go to the base of the windshield and under the hood.
Look at the hose end you found…….that comes from the washer bottle – which the water comes out of – correct? Look inside it – has anything broken off inside – a T-fitting or anything? Okay if that is clear – is the hose broken (rough edge) or smooth like it came off of something?
Follow the hose down from the wiper blades and see where the end is – there has to be a fitting that the one from the washer bottle connects to. Or does one wiper spray and the other doesn’t? Or are they both not working? Assuming they both are not working – look around the base of the hood, firewall etc for a fitting or part of a hose etc that may have broken off. Also – kind of stretch (only kind of) the hose and move it around to see where it is closest to the base of the windshield where the other hose comes down.
Oh – the hose that comes down from the windshield – same thing – look in the bottom of it to see if something has broken off. If so – pull it out and get a plastic tube from the parts store and connect both ends to it.
Did any of this help or do you have questions.

neither blade sprays; the spray would come out of both little sprayers on top of the hood.

Before it can get there it's coming out from a disconnected hose.

The water sprays out from an unconnected hose end. The hose end I see comes from the firewall and is unattached where it comes out of the firewall, on the passenger side. I can't see anything to which to attach it.

Okay - then most likely the hose at the firewall Ts inside - let's assume.
Okay - so with a plastic rubber hose coupler connect the hoses together.
If they don't reach each other then that is where they broke. You will need hose the same size and two plastic hose connectors and join all together and see if it works.

Thank you for all your help. I found where it goes; it's a nipple which is under some plastic trim; all I've got to do is remove that and stick the hose back on the nipple. I really appreciate your sincere attention to my little problem :)
