I was in a car wreck and totaled my car after I rear ended someone on the interstate. My airbags did not deploy and I am not sure why. Where are the airbag sensors located in the front of the vehicle?

In my wreck I split the radiator in half and cracked the bumper. The bumper damage was minimal but directly above the bumper was destroyed. So should the airbag have gone off.

It depends i've seen them go off and then a hard hit they don't. There are no tsb's for the air bag so it wold be soemthing to take up withthe manufacturer. This sits infront of condensor so it should have gone off if that are was hit and it sounds like it was.

Yes it should have deployed? I agree with the other mechanic I would call the dealership & ask why? Sometimes vehicles will have a problem but instead of doing a recall they will do whats called a service bullitin which is there way out of having to fix it unless the car owner has enough knowledge of cars 2 figure it out & take it in then theyll fix it without cost to the owner? Its a loop hole that they use 2 get out of fixin it! I personally think this is really really wrong do dealers think everyone is supposed 2 be a mechanic?
