My husband tried to install a new stereo in my car. He had the new one working then it stopped. The old one worked but would turn off intermittently. He put the old one back in and now it doesn't work at all. The power locks only work when the car is running and the RPM and speedometer needles both go all the way up then return to normal when the car is started. Checked all the fuses on the inside of car and all are good. Took it to a stereo installer and he could not get the new or old stereo to work either. Thought there might be a safety code or device causing this problem. Jeep service says it could be a fuse under the hood. The manual doesn't show the Power Distribution center diagram. So I have know idea which fuse to check under the hood. Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.

Got the locks and radio to work (fuse in a small case in fuse box) now the only problem is the instrument panel lights are out. Checked all the fuses. Check 13 and 34. 34 was blown and corrected all the other problems.

Check fuses 13 and 32 as those go to the body module which controls the lights. Also make very sure that you haven't inadvertenly dimmed the lights with the light dimmer. That has happened in the past. If that' isn't it you'll have to check the bulbs and it may be a baody module problem but kinda dont' think so.
