First thing first - thank you for giving people your time and expertise on your automotive know-how/advice. Ok now hopefully you can give me your opinion on what the heck is wrong with my car...lol..! I have a 2004 4cyl. 2.4L (42,000 miles) Santa Fe. On the way home from work going roughly 25mph my engine just shut off (coasting to a stop). I then tried to restart it but it wouldn't. Actually the engine turned over as usual and started but 4-5 seconds later it would just stall out again. Had to get a tow home. The next day I popped the hood to see if any belts were broken or anything else for that matter but couldn't find anything out of the norm. I then tired to start it again but now engine turns over but it won't start at all (before it would for 4-5 sec.) After doing a little research online I believe its then crankshaft position sensor. Since it doesn't start I can't take it to an auto parts store to see if its thrown a code (which I do believe the check engine light is on). Do you think the crankshaft sensor is the problem? When I do take it in to get fixed how much do you think it's going to cost me? Because of where the CPS is located should I have them stall new belts? How much more will that cost me? Again - thanks for your time.
