Just a thought because im not real familar with this vehicle, does the dome light come on when you open the drivers door? Could be a problem with the drivers door ajar switch. See if the chime works when you open the passenger door.

Sorry Billpac, disregard my last sentence of my post,I meant to say if the dome light doesnt work when opening the driver door, see if it works when opening the passenger door, not the chime
