Check engine light is on and I keep having 2 put oil in the car?

Take your car to an auto parts store and have them read the codes, then come back here and post them. I can help you more after that.
The oil leak is most likely a different issue.

Frequent topping up of oil means either there is a leak somewhere or the engine is consuming oil. For most engines 80 % of oil consumption are due to worn valve seals and replacing them helps tremendously.
