My 2004 gmc 2500 hd 's battery went dead one time last summer and it happenned again this summer. And when I put the charger on it the low headlight and the four way flashers were flashing and I think that is what killed the battery but why did it go on is the question. It is like the anti theft alarm went on but without the horn. One time it has happened but I noticed it and restarted it and it stopped. So I am getting scared to go in the backwoods in fear that it will happen there. So if I can have a hint to what it is please. Thanks.

You can chase electrical problems like that forever and never be sure it's solved. That's the price we pay for all of the extremely unreliable computers the engineers have added to today's vehicles. Regardless what suggestions anyone comes up with, carry a spare battery in the back with a pair of jumper cables. You might also consider a portable jumper pack although I don't trust how long those little batteries will hold a charge.
