2004 Dodge Stratus Code P0440

Check engine light came on, went to AutoZone to have it read. They gave me a printout of what the problems could be. I was told to start with the gas cap which by the way was not on right. I was able to pull it off without twisting it. Placed it back on correctly and the light still remains on.

That is an evap canister code the light has to be turned off by a scanner it may be a solenoid on canister or a leaky vacuum line. It should be smoke tested. For leaks.

Guess I got lucky. Started the car this morning and the light finally went out. I guess the trick was to drive it around a couple of days. Now I can get my inspection. Thank you
