2004 Dodge Neon Yesterday Car Started Pulsing Fast Slow Idling Shifted Into

Yesterday, my car started pulsing fast and slow when idling. Then when I shifted into gear it would drive fine, but when I put the clutch in the engine would race. When driving, it seemed to be accelerating on its own and I would have to brake to keep at speed. I managed to get it home and will take it in tomorrow. Can you tell me what my problem might be?
