Please how do I change the alternator on a 3400(engine size) Chevy Ventura van

We wer driving down the highway and the lights went dim the time started to blink and it stalled. We got a jump for about ten minutes then it drove home. Mthen the next moring it started but it also started to do the same stuff from the night before

Check your voltage at battery with pocket meter when running to see if it is over above 12v. Should be around 14v. Is alternator/battery light glowing on dash when running? If reading is 12v take alternator off and have it tested before replacing to make sure that's it.

The battery light stays on the it goes off but this moring it was on all the time

I drop the back cradle bolts and let the frame drop so you have acess to removing it. Remove the belt, take off the 3 bolts, undo the wires after removing battery cable and remove the alternator.
