My car loses heat very quickly while it is idling.

The only way it comes on is if I would apply some gas but it When my car is idling & the heat is on it loses heat. I then would have to step on the gas for a few seconds for the heat to come back, it ongoing. ??would still reoccur. I don't have any problems while I'm driving, only when I'm in park & the ignition is on. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

That would indicate possible low coolant level or restricted heater core. You might try removing both heater hoses and backflushing the heater core with water pressure.

Check for a stuck open thermostat as well.
