My car is burning oil between oil changes I have to add a few quarts and I use high mileage oil I dont have a oil leak

Do you ever see blue smoke coming from the exhaust pipe? (If so, oil is entering the combustion chamber---either because of bad rings, valve seal or a leaking intake manifold gasket.

What size engine?
