Leaking transmission housing extension seal , rear seal

03 Tundra 80K miles. Have replaced transmission rear seal, aka tail shaft or transmission extension seal, twice and it is still leaking. Yoke looks good no damage to housing any suggestions other than replacing the yoke.

the bushing behind the seal is the reason the seal fails. you must replace that bushing along with the seal

Is this something I can do or is going to require a special tool to remove and replace the bushing?

special tool required to remove and install. you are better off letting a shop perform this for you.

no, i am not. remove the driveshaft from the rear of the trans. remove the seal you replaced and inside the output housing is a brass bushing that needs to be replaced.
