Can you help me with my jamming gears

My prado 2003 with 170000klm v6 4lt. 4speed auto is jamming in gear when in park. This happens usually when parked on an angle either forward or backwards and has started 6 months ago.We have found that the only way to release the stick is to hold the shift lock button down and pull the stick back.As this is a short term solutition I need to fix the problem.Any suggestions wher to look for the problem. In saying this the stick and box assy housing (plastic)as been replaced because of a failure in the stick assy so only after this did the jamming start.Hope you can help.
Regards
Eddie

Most probably during replacement of the gear lever something was not installed correctly or out of adjustment.
