Recently purchased a Saturn 2003 VUE. Excellent condition. I did my due diligence prior to purchasing and noticed the transmission had been rebuilt 1 year prior to purchase. I found the actual mechanic who rebuilt the transmission due to an acceleration problem I was having. He has suggested to replace the turbine speed sensor. I noticed from paperwork that it was replaced when the transmission was rebuilt and then 3 months after that.. Here it is 9 months later and the same sensor needs (?) Replaced. I am beginning to wonder if this is a supposed fix to a problem no one seems to know how to fix.
Has anyone had the problem with replacing output speed sensors or can anyone give me advice as to where to go from here? The car has very little power when accelerating, noisy rattling sound when you speed up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for responding.

I have a 6 Cyl. DOHC 3.0 Fuel Injected Automatic Transmission.

Best way I can describe the noise, upon acceleration it struggles and makes a racketing sound.
Grinding. >> Maybe.

Don;t understand checking for codes?

Thanks again.

Checking for codes is putting a scan on the connector under the dash and reading the codes. Sounds like the transmission has a internal failure from your description. Let me know the exact code numbers you have not code descriptions?
