My check engine light keeps coming on and then going off, also the gas gauge, speedomoter and rpm does the same, a mechanic told me it could be the ecu, the car is not running bad.

The 2003 Saturn instrument panel is now considered a Module, The fuel gauge performance and speedometer performance is set in the ECM. You may have a faulty connection to instrument panel to ECM Over all the instrument panel is controlled by the BCM (body control module). Any code for this instrument panel will be in B codes

The body control module has a way higher failure rate then ecm. Also when the bcms fail they usually don't set a code in the BCm.
