Water leakage

After a recent heavy rain/wind storm I noticed that the divers side floor was wet but the seat was dry. A visual examination did not surface where the water was coming from. During the next heavy rain/wind storm my anti-theft device went off and would continue to go off even after resetting it. I went out to the car and again noticed that the floor on the drivers side was wet and the seat was dry. I had to turn on the heater to dry interior of the car out in order to reset the anti-theft device. This has happened twice since the second occurrence. FYI, it appears as though my feet are being dripped on when they are on the gas/brake pedal after it rains. Any information that you can provide to help me identify and resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

This happens when the windshield needs to be replaced because the seal around it is faulty. This is causing all of your problems. It should cost about $240.00 to have a new one installed.

When it rains I can see water running down under the dash on the driver side and running down on the emergency brake lever. Where could the water be coming from?

You could check it yourself using a water hose and an assistant, by having the assistant to "spray" water around the windshield on that side of the car while you are on the inside checking to see where the leak comes from. (Be sure to to run the water at the top, bottom and sides of the windshield) If it turns out to be a leak at the windshield, have a body shop to check the front windshield seal.

You can try to dry the windshield out and use silicone rubber to seal it but that can be a little messy and it does not look that good. To fix it correctly you should have the windshield replaced and the weather seal as well.

Water collects on the drivers side floor board after a rain. Window gasket seems to be okay. Are there any drains that I could check to see if they are clogged?

Check the floorboard drain plug and also the under pan on the windshield.

If you have a sunroof, open it halfway and then pour just a little cupful of water into the channel, you should see a drain hole. Make sure the water drains out the bottom of the car.

You can test the same thing in the fresh air vents just below the windshield wipers. If you pour a little water in there (simulating rain water intrusion) you should see it dribble out the bottom of the vehicle. If one or neither of these drains does not drain out the bottom, it is plugged and going into the passenger compartment.

Just to add to this one the best thing to do is water test the car. Meaning your inside the car while someone runs water over the car and you see where the water is coming in.

After a rain storm, my driver's seat and floor by the pedals was wet. We opened the door panel and put in weather stripping and silicone. It rained again and the same thing happened. We then sealed it with silicone from the outside, top of the door jamb. Now my alarm goes off randomly and the electrical acts like the door is open because the dome light stays on, the doors keep locking when I accelerate (which it does after you first close the doors), and when I turn the car off, the radio immediately turns off and it dings like it does when the door is open and keys are in the ignition. I am not sure if the electrical got ruined from the rain or what. If this is the problem, how do I fix it? What needs to be replaced and where exactly is the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a possibility water has gotten to some components resulting in them malfunctioning.

Recheck the door switches for proper closing. An out of adjustment door would not allow the switch to be closed correctly.

You need to get the water leakages resolved to prevent further occurrences. It could be leaking from somewhere other than the doors and a waer test would be required to locate the source.
