2003 Pontiac Sunfire Repair Question

Pontiac Sunfire Engine Problem
Trac light came on while driving, which it never has. Drove a short distance n the engine stopped running. coasted to a stop. Couldn't restart engine and needed car to be towed to garage, car has original battery Recently had brakes replaced

check charging system first. it may have set from low voltage and the motor shut off for the same reason
