Signal cancel CAM

Hi,
I accidentally broke the signal cancel cam by installing the multi-function switch back in. So the little metal plate attached on the cancel cam was twisted, and causing me trouble in turning. Can I just cut off the little metal plate, and drive to the dealer store to get it replaced? Or cutting off the metal plate may cause some serious driving hazadards in the road?
Thanks,
Keith Y

Remove the multi function switch and see if that part is part of the switch or column. Since you did it already, you can put in a new switch if it is part of the switch. It is available from any parts stores.

I did and apparently it's the metal part of the signal cancel cam and connected with the steering column. The problem is I dont have the tools to take off the wheel, so I probably need to go to a store to get it replaced. So is it safe to cut the metal ring off, since the metal thing fell apart already? It only affect the horn right?

Thanks for the quick response. Really appreciate it!

Cheers
K
