sounds like my u-points are making noise when I take off from a standstill. What can I expect to do to fix this problem?

Replace the worn parts. In this case, if you have already diagnosed it as noisy cv joints, it's usually faster and less expensive to install rebuilt half shafts than to replace the outer joints.
