I live in Africa. I own an Opel Vectra 2002/2003 Model (Vectra C). Recently the car won't start in the morning from like 6am to 8am when the weather is a bit cold. The ignition will turn and all lights would come up, but it will be silent when you turn the key to start. However, the moment the sun comes up from like 9am to 10am, and the weather is a bit warm/hot, it will start smoothly and there won't be problem for the rest of the day. Until the next morning. I have ruled out battery issue because I tried new ones, same problem.

Thanks for your response. By starter, do you mean the keys or the ignition mechanism?

Hello. I'm back. My mechanic did a direct test on the starter and it cranked, but the car won't start. He said there's no spark on the plugs. And now I hear a buzzing sound from the ignition/steering area. It stops when I turn the key, and continue when I remove the key. Pretty frustrating!

The noise is coming from the steering wheel area? And this is when the key is out?

As far as the no spark, it could be a few things, a crank sensor, coil.

Thank you for your responses. Yeah, the buzzing sound is from the steering wsound/gnition area. When you put on the key and turn, it stops.
Normally when you turn the key and get a beep sound/signal that's a sign the car will start. Yesterday the car start around 1pm and I drove for the rest of the day with little or no problem. This morning, as usual, it refused to start. Maybe till later in the day. That's the daily routine.

Was told it could be the immobiliser. But I'm not getting any flashing Car/Spanner light on the dashboard.

That is interesting. At this point, I think the only choice is to remove the steering wheel and start to check where the noise is coming from. Since there is an airbag, make sure to disconnect the battery at least 30 minutes before working on the car.
