My 1.4 sometimes switches of and then immediately on while driving. the other thing is that the brake switch and its cables are burnt
The car starts properly and while driving it switches off then immediately on and when i stop the rev goes very high until i wait for or a while or i switch the engine of and re-start.Could it be the rpm switch? I have also noticed that the brake switch and the cables are burnt so when i apply the brakes it dosen't signal the behind traffic.

i would start by looking at the battery cables. make sure they are good and clean. check the connections at the ignition switch as well. it sounds electrical from your description.
