I have 2003 mitsubishi Galant 4 cylinderI just replaced a new battery. After it was installed the engine sometimes stalls. This happened after I replaced the new one.
When I replaced the battery I properly cleansed the contacts. The contacts are not loose they are securely tightend. There were no spark when I conected + & - so, there is no room for any power leak. The car strats fine, no problem.

But when I turn the heater on sometime there is no problem at all. But sometimes the engine stalls but the headlight everything stays on. Dash light doesn't shaw any sign of engine issue. Only he battery, oil sign stays on as usual.

Please help to fix it. Very much appreciate your help.

Check where the negative cable from the battery goes to the ground on the engine. Make sure there are no issues there. Also make sure the negative cable is tolerable. Peel back a little of the insulation. Is it crystalized and such? I have seen many ground wires totally decrepid inside the insulation causing lots of electrical problems.

When battery is removed, the computer memory is erased and needs to relearn before the idling speed would stabilise. You need some running time.

If the throttle body and ISC are dirty, the idling speed would require a longer time to stabilise and I would suggest getting them cleaned if you have not done it previously.
