2003 Mercedes Benz SLK230 Car won't start

I have a 4 cyl Turbo Kompressor with only 72,000 miles on it in impeccable condition. I keep it garaged and serviced but never have problems. A few nights ago when I parked it for the night & locked the doors with the remote, I accidentally set off the panic alarm on my key chain remote a short time later. I turned off the chirp with the remote and went to bed. The next morning, my car wouldn't start. I don't know if there is a connection or not but wanted to give all of the facts. There wasn't silence, the car groaned as if the battery didn't have enough juice to start the car. I did not leave the lights or dome lights on over night. Advice please?

This Mercedes have a history of having issues with the central locking system, sometimes with water intrusion damaging the circuit board inside.
First check for any lights staying on after shutting down the vehicle and locking it. This vehicle is equipped with a power shut down after 10 or so minutes to keep the battery alive.
If you don't find anything staying on it might be best to take vehicle to dealer for repairs because something is staying on and draining the battery overnight. It could be many components causing a drain.
