Is a strut arm and a control arm the same thing?
my mb mechanic says i need strut arms, i am looking for them online and can only find control arms... and how many and where are these arms? thank you for your time

As a rule no, they are not the same but manufacturers are able to call their parts anything they choose. Strut arms generally run forward and back while control arms run left and right.

You have upper & lower control arms, see pic, best ask your mechanic which he is talking about.
