My '03, stalls when the heat is on and the car is idle. this only happens when the heat is on. what could this be?
My Mazda Tribute '03, stalls when the heat is on and the car is idle. This only happens when the heat is on. What could this be?
Also, my check engine light came on and my mechanic got a p0509-idle air reading (if I remember correctly). Could these two issues be related?

Have the idle air control valve checked and also the charging system

YOU RECKON THE A/C IS COMPRESSOR IS LOCKED UP?
THEY ALSO TURN ON IF THE HEATER IS IN A MODE W/ DEFROST

Yes, the P0509 is idle control related and would affect the idling speed ans stalling when AC compressor kicks in.
