2003 Mazda Mpv Ve Got Replace Headlight T Get Old One Out Tried Turn Plug On

I've got to replace the headlight, but I can't get the old one out. I've tried to turn the plug on the end under the hood. No go, twist it wiggle it. No go . got any ideas?
