Jeep Liberty Engine Problem

I got up this morning and started my 2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade up to warm it up as I live in Michigan, when I went to leave I noticed the engine sounded horrible, it was chugging and the check engine light was flashing. I took it to a local auto parts store and had it scanned. They told me it said the engine is misfiring on cylinders 1 & 6. Any ideas on what to do to cure this? It's Christmas time and we're on a totally tight budget, but this is our only vehicle. Thank you so very very much for your help!

The ignition system has to be inspected. At that mileage you are due for new plugs and you may have a couple of weak coils also.
