Honda Element Door Problem

I am having issues with my driver side lock/keyless entry and also with the ignition. It started fine for me this am, no hesitation, now at lunch time when I needed it to start I cannot get the ignition to turn and the steering wheel is stiff. Car is in park and I am thinking all my months of wiggling the key into the door lock, has finally paid its toll and now will not let me turn the ignition. Obvious i will have to use my spare key, but does anyone have any suggestions on the drivers door lock and how that problem can be solved? I either go without locking the door or constantly climb through passengers side just to get in the car. Much appreciated

The door key cylinder tumblers and the key slots are worn. If the spare key works, it is time to discard the original key and make a new spare. If it is not easy to turn the door key lock, the tumblers have to be repaired/replaced. A locksmith should be able to help.

Did you try turning the steering to rerlase it from the locked position before attempting to turn the key?
What is wrong with the keyless entry?
